Welcome back, dear Patrons, to the last portion of this incredibly long chapter.
“Are you quite certain it is all one chapter, Ghostcat-sama?”
Unfortunately, yes. I think the author is under the impression that one episode equals once chapter of fic.
So what happened last time? Things. Stuff. Boobs. Lots of boobs. Occasionally a nipple.

There was some awkward interactions between Fem!Ayumu and Taeko, they went to school and then Orito and Fem!Ayumu chatted in an empty classroom afterwards. A giant lobster…
“Zarigari.”
Sorry, a giant crayfish Megalo then approached them and made some really inappropriate comments. Haruna burst in through the windows, tried to use her powers, and wound up naked again. Fem!Ayumu was just about to kick some ass when we called it a day last time, so we’re going to pick up right before the big fight.
“One has brought a fresh carafe of roughage.”
I have a feeling we’re going to need it.

Welcome back, weary Patrons!
We have reached the second to last portion of the first chapter! It promises to be more of the same, massive amounts of plot regurgitation with liberal amounts of nudity and body-shaming!
So what happened last time? Fem!Ayumu met Haruna, had her first run-in with a Megalo, and then stole Haruna’s abilities. This leads the former Masou Shoujo to move in with Fem!Ayumu and M!Eu. The supposedly straight Haruna has also been having impure thoughts about Fem!Ayumu, including a realistic dream featuring Fem!Ayumu’s “glorious, peach-shaped ass”, and overcompensated by calling the zombie a series of increasingly ridiculous boob-themed insults.

Hello, my darling Patrons!
I have returned with another slice of this incredibly long chapter. The first segment was approximately eighty-five percent plot regurgitation, ten percent Fem!Ayumu’s lush nakedness, and five percent other. The author recreated the character introductions for Ayumu (with a little bathroom scene added for inexplicable reasons), Eu, and Orito, and included an original scene introducing a male Taeko that primarily focused on Fem!Ayumu running around naked after being hit by a truck.
Y’know, my dear Patrons – as odd as the source materials can be at times, this fic is just so much weirder in a completely different way.
I’ve got my counters warmed up and ready, so let’s jump back into the fic. When we left Fem!Ayumu last time, she was finishing a phone call from Orito and he was warning her about the serial killer that had already, unknown to him, killed her. I’m going to remove the row of bold Xs that serves as a scene break, purely because I don’t like them.

Salutations, sweetest Patrons!
I’m here with the first “real” chapter of this Kore wa Zonbi Desu Ka? fic! Or at least as much of it as I can get into a reasonably sized riff without putting everyone to sleep.
The previous chapter was chock-full of stuff – all of it things that should have been in the fic rather than an extended Author’s Note – that was little more than a laundry list of characters and they’re “improved” traits, so there isn’t really any point in trying to summarize it. This chapter begins with another disclaimer and the same kind of heading listing the author, work title, and chapter title (the chapter is called And not an exhibitionist pervert!) so I’m going to cut both of them in the interests of brevity.
“Today will be cloudy, possibly with brief, scattered showers. Please be sure to take an umbrella when going out. Okay, go and have yourself another great day!”
…Oh-kay. I hope there’s some context coming up soon because I’m lost. This sounds like the TV weather report that opens the first episode of the series, but without some kind of description it is just words floating in the Void.
With a groan, she sat up from her bed, dressed only in a pair of boyshorts and a camisole.
She who? The she who was just giving a weather report? How could she report the weather from bed?
Yawning, she got up and shuffled like a zombie into the bathroom,
… Is this the “regular person acting like a zombie in a zombie film” thing? Because Shaun of the Dead did it better.

…I don’t remember that happening in the anime or in the manga. Kind of odd that everything except this toilet is hanging out in the Formless Void.
Heh… Shuffled like a zombie. How ironic.
Not if this is Fem!Ayumu, who is a real zombie. Irony would imply that the action is somehow contrary to what the audience expects. This is more like foreshadowing.
Or… fitting? Eh. She wasn’t one for that kind of humor.
Or any kind that I’ve seen so far.

Hello, dear Patrons!
I’m here with a brand spanking new fic that contains significantly less spanking than that moniker would imply. But there is gratuitous partial nudity! And occasional full nudity, which is also gratuitous. Also violence!
This fic comes from one of my very favorite anime series; Kore wa Zonbi Desu Ka?, A.K.A “Is This A Zombie?” The series follows the male protagonist, Aikawa Ayumu, a high school boy who was brutally murdered by a serial killer and then brought back as a zombie by the necromancer Eulicwood Hellscythe. They are joined by a Magical Garment Girl, Haruna, after Ayumu accidentally steals her powers, and then later by a vampire ninja, Serephim, who is seeking the necromancer’s help. Together they fight various Big Bads and Monsters of the Week, who are known as Megalos and resemble different animals (like a blue whale, a bear, a school of jellyfish) who are usually out to steal Haruna’s (and then Ayumu’s) magic for themselves in an allegory for rape. Y’know, just your basic anime shenanigans.
The series plays with many of the standard tropes found in anime, but is very fun to watch. The fic … Not so much. Let me show you the summary;
Ever wished you could watch a curvy female zombie fight monsters with the aid of a prettyboy necromantic wizard, jerkass vampire ninja, and naked loli girl?
Well … Yeah. That’s why I watch anime. Duh.
Introducing: Kore wa Zombi Desu ka?/Is This a Zombie?: The partial genderswap version!
Partially genderswapped? That sounds bad. Really bad. A partial genderswap usually means that the author wants to hijack the protagonist, typically by switching the character’s gender to match their own and then piling on the Sue/Stu traits. The author’s preferred love interest usually gets the Jurassic Park treatment as well, if they are not already the author’s preferred gender.
Rated T for nudity, violence, and language.
I don’t think so. According to the rating system used by ff.net, T would mean the fic is “Suitable for teens, 13 years and older, with some violence, minor coarse language, and minor suggestive adult themes.” Full nudity and the sort of blood-soaked violence found in the source materials should be given an M rating, which some authors seem hesitant to use regardless of the content of their fics.
Skip the prologue if you don’t want to hear the author explain herself.

Combining source materials is rarely a good idea, especially if they differ on key points. I’ve only read a little of the manga and the anime does follow it pretty closely, but it does differ from it as well.
