Hello yet again patrons, and welcome back to Parallel Realities. I think you just about know the drill with this by now: we look at a chapter, we watch as something becomes incredibly stupid, we yell about it, and other things happen.

Well, this chapter is a slight departure from that formula. Why, you might ask? Oh, nothing, it just takes us to Khar’shan today, which is telling because the canon ME3 never sent us anywhere near the batarian homeworld. But today, we do just that, and we get to watch stuff happen.

And we also get what I think would be an awesome character if she had been in any other fic but this one.

So without further ado, let’s get moving.

Welcome back to the latter half of the second-to-last chapter of A Jedi’s Destiny.  We’re in the home stretch!

Last time our adventurers chased a TIE interceptor through a canyon and almost crashed into an imperial star destroyer, veering off at the last moment to hide in a cave.  Luckily, nobody saw them.  Stu and the Worshipers (horrible band, by the way) decide that they need to infiltrate the star destroyer in order to gather intelligence.  It’s your basic sneak in plan: knock out some scouts, steal their uniforms, sneak in, compromise their com channels, download all their data, blow up a large portion of the ship, and hope that nobody thinks of changing all the com access codes as a precaution.  Also, in a bold move, the team decides to bring the child dinosaurs with them.  This will provide a strategic advantage for the group because [information missing].  Ducky and Petrie are also given blasters because this team is dangerously stupid.

Honestly, Jedi421 makes it really, really hard to not root for the Empire, so I’m just going to go ahead and root for them.

Art-tastic Monday – Puny God Edition

Today I thought I’d dig up some Avengers fanart for our guest snarker Kate. As you might imagine with such a large fandom, the quality of the work varies considerably. There is also a vast array of shipped couples, some of which had me scratching my head. (Loki/Loki yaoi – really, people? Narcissism doesn’t work that way.) Since the main canon character in Kate’s fic is Loki, I’ve decided to showcase some Loki fanart. (I also really like typing the word “Loki” over and over again.) And I’ve found some stunners.

The artist has an amazing portfolio, much of it fanart and all of it stunning.

Bonus image for those who click through!

Salutations, exquisite Patrons!

Once more I am back with a chapter of my FB fic – only five more to go. In the previous chapter, as is often the case, not a whole lot happens that is worth mentioning. Tohru recieved a phone call from some non-canon asshat named Christian who claims to have some sort of proof regarding the Sohma curse. Instead of using this information to extort money or favors out of an influential family, he’s demanding that Tohru (a homeless orphan) marry him. She agrees to meet him and Shigure drives her … somewhere.

*looks at yesterday’s post*

*takes a deep breath*

Holy fuck, there are TWO of these things!!!!!!

*headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk*

Let’s… let’s just continue with Parallel Realities. I don’t know what bizarre, overly unholy reasons could possibly exist for why someone would want to inflict a second version of this particular atrocity against literature on the human race, but… yeah, let’s not think about that.

Forward by Taco:

As we’ve gathered more (upwards of 30 now!) readers, we’ve been getting several individuals interested in trying their hands at riffing.  One such individual is Erttheking, who submitted this riff nearly a month ago and I’ve been too busy to get it posted up here.  Since I’ve been dragging my feet so much on it, I figured I’d give him my spot this week.

Erttheking makes his Library debut with a fic that’s bad.  Really bad.  A stinker of epic proportions.  I was stupid enough to go read some of it; I recommend not doing that.

Also, I redacted a fairly big spoiler in case Herr W. was saving it for a nice surprise.  If he’s not, I can add it back in later.  That’s not to say it’s not an idiotic plot twist on Parallel Realities part.

Why Hello there, I’m Erttheking, the author of Fighting for a Purpose, Mass Effect New Origins and From the Ashes, the first has a lot of stupid moments, and the other two are decent.  Still, writing fanfiction is something that I’ve done since my Freshmen year in high school (where I wrote REALLY atrocious fan fics involving Runescape and the Legend of Zelda that I have removed from reality).  Anyway, the point that I’m trying to make here is that I have a bit of an idea on how fan fiction ticks.  Herr Wozzeck’s review of Mass Effect Parallel Realities is pretty well known, but surprisingly enough I reviewed the fic as well… it wasn’t very good.

Art-tastic Monday – And Then Buffy Dusted Edward. The End.

I c annot believe we haven’t featured any Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanart yet. In fact, I was sure we had, but it looks like we have not. Since I dearly love crossovers, what better than a Twilight crossover?

Of all the “And then Buffy staked Edward. The End.” fanart pieces out there, and there are a satisfyingly large number of them, this one is interactive! You can print out the picture and color it in yourself. Maybe hang it on the fridge with a plastic magnet shaped like a piece of fruit.
