Hello again.  So, we’ve put Dawn behind us and we’re going to explore the wonderful world of “House M.D.”  I have to confess that I did not find this story on my own.  Several years ago I was part of a “House” MST3K LiveJournal site and one of the members riffed this fic.  It is so horrible.  The only thing more horrible is that the author wrote another “House” fic that is equally bad.  This one is called Good Girl Bad attitude.  I’m not sure why the last word in the title isn’t capitalized, but it does not bode well for the story.  Let’s just jump right in and have some fun (and by fun, I mean horror).

129: Mythical Sisters – Chapters 1 and 3

Title: Mythical Sisters
Author: AbbyVolturi
Media: Movie / Book
Topic: Disney / Twilight
Genre: Romance / Family
URL: Mythical Sisters
Critiqued by Ghostcat

Hello once again, Library Patrons! Today I am revisiting the collection of fics authored by AbbyVolturi, the same author who brought us Bella’s a Ghost whisper!, which I riffed a couple of weeks ago. Like most of the author’s fics, this one centers on Bella of Twilight infamy but this time we get a Twilight/Disney crossover!

That’s right – this author has taken some of Disney’s beloved characters and mashed them together with Bella-Sue.

While Ghost whisper was pretty bad, this fic is even worse. There are bits and pieces of canon material from various sources scattered through out, resulting in an inharmonious mess. While the previous fic had something resembling a plot that the author lifted more-or-less intact from the source material, this fic has very little in the way of plot to get in the way of Bella being awesome.

It’s like watching the world’s slowest train wreck.

Enjoy!

Art-tastic Thursday – Portal

As all the holidays draw to an end and a new year is heralded in, we at the Library would like to give you our last Art-tastic post of the year:  The Portal Christmas Tree.

..Where do we put the presents?!

This hilarious twist on the classic tree is brought to you by Ryan Kelly and a couple of his co-workers during break from filming some sort of project.  There’s an article about how they did it here, as well as many more pictures of the tree from different angles.

It’s Wednesday again! Do you all know what that means? Yup, you guessed it, time to splorch back into the dank world of call of duty:the untold zombie chronicels. They couldn’t even get through the title without making spelling and grammar errors.

When we left off last time, Team Stu had fled from the zombie horde into the zombie animal testing facility in Der Riese to meet up with “an ally.” Before that there was a lot of Gary Stuing while they killed a lot of zombies. The plot is rather deep isn’t it?

127: The Shiny Thing – One Shot

Title: The Shiny Thing
Author:
Media: Book
Topic: Wrinkle in Time
Genre: Sci-Fi / Supernatural
URL: The Shiny Thing

Up next in the “why is this listed under this title??” category (see:  911 Short Story) is the very short story “The Shiny Thing,” found in the “Wrinkle in Time Trilogy” section.

“A Wrinkle in Time” is a favorite book of mine.  I remember reading it in 3rd grade with my teacher and 2 other advanced students.  That probably has a lot to do with why I am the nerd I am today.  But none of that really matters, because this story has no connection at all to anything in the books.  And that’s not just my opinion, 2 reviewers had the same thought, so it’s not like I’m missing something subtle here.

The story is very short, so I will be sharing it in its entirety with line-by-line snark.  I know you’re excited.
