We’re finally here, people!  The last chapter of this little fic duo.  This chapter is actually really short, so we’ll be getting out of class a little early today.  To be honest, this week is a busy one for me, so I decided to do this chapter as it’s own thing rather than do it last week so that I can attend more pressing matters.

So last time?  Well, last time the author basically erased everything that managed to happen in the last two fics so that he could come full circle.  We once again have a babby Cort in the care of Noa.  True, now she’s got other kids and is married to Vahn, but it’s not impossible to have arrived at a similar position without all the trajek-happenings of the first fic or the profound stupidity of this one.  So I really don’t need much of a recap here; the status quo has been reinstated.  Though there was a poorly described battle or something last chapter where nobody was hurt.  I think.  It could also have been poorly described tentacle porn, the fic wasn’t very clear at the time.

Welcome back, folks; we’re in the home stretch!  Just two more chapters and we’re done!  After that, I’m not sure.  Maybe one of the big fics on my list, maybe a few more one-shots, we’ll have to see.

Yeah, nothing actually happened.  Seriously, all that “happened” was Nara got a portentous dream where a voice that totally didn’t belong to Cort tried to warn her to run away.  Then, after waking up, Nara and Thorum bumble around the caves for a while before the POV shifts over to the parents, who then also proceed to bumble around the caves for a while.  Then the chapter ends.

I count that as nothing happening.

Hello, patrons!  Welcome back to another week of-

*Crunchy slinks in and perches himself on a stool*

I’m in the middle of the introduction.  Any reason you’re bothering me?

“I do not recall saying or doing anything that would merit this harassment.  ‘Bothering you’ indeed, the very nerve.”

What are you doing here?

“You might recall that it is Spring, which means it is Fall in the southern hemisphere of this planet.  You might also remember how Swenia gets during this season.”

Is it that time of year already?

“Indeed.  I grew weary of the spectacle, so I thought I would retreat in here for some respite.”

Wait, you’d rather be in here with this fic than be out there?  Oof, it must be a bad year.  I’ll get Markus armed with the ice-water projection system that Bifocals just walked in with.

*Bifocals hands Taco the IWP and walks out*

That woman is good.  Didn’t even know I needed one until she’d already delivered it.

Might as well get to it.  To recap… not much happened last time.  Nara and Thoram’s parents realized they were missing and went to look for them.  After some searching, they found the hole that the kids fell down, and jumped right on in themselves.  Yeah, that was pretty much it.

1359: Legaia Nara and the SimSeru – Chapter Two

Jeez, that title.  I keep wanting to add list commas to it.  Then again, I could just redistribute from within the fic and no-one would be the wiser.

So, recap! Last time our “heroine,” Nara, trespassed on federal property that had been condemned by the king. Apparently he also serves as the head of the Department of Building Regulations or something.  Anyway, they sneak around the area with all the stealth of a forty-Sousaphone marching band and eventually fall down a hole.  They aren’t able to climb out due to the lack of walls in the chamber, so instead opt to wander around aimlessly in the caves until they get lost.  After they succeed in that venture, they bed down for the night.  Meanwhile a dark figure, which totally isn’t the SimSeru in the title, twirls its mustache rather than just coming to the point and attacking them. Because BLUE.

So, this week we start in on the sequel to the last mini-project.  This fic was posted just a few months after the first one and is only slightly longer.  A cursory glance over the chapter indicates that this fic is quite a bit less angsty and, mercifully, not a romance.

That, unfortunately, doesn’t stop this thing from being a wreck.

Let’s just dive into this thing, starting, as always, with the summary.

Nara, Vahn & Noa’s spirited daughter, goes on an exploration trip, gets into big trouble, and gives Cort a chance for redemption. Story completed.

Hey!  An actual summary.  I can already see that we’re going to be leaving canon and world mechanics behind on this one, but at least it’s a summary!
