Welcome back, dear readers.  This week I have another mystifying very short story for you, this time from the Oryx and Crake section.  For those who haven’t heard of it, this is a book by Margaret Atwood, author of The Handmaid’s Tale, set in a dystopian near future.  The book is centered around one character, Jimmy, later known as Snowman, and follows him from childhood through the cataclysm that happens when he is an adult.  This cataclysm is brought about by his childhood friend Glenn, later know as Crake.  They later both fall in love with the same woman, known only as Oryx.

So that’s 3 characters with 5 names.  Got it so far?

Ok, let’s start with the summary, because, as usual, the fic itself makes no sense at all without it.  With it, it makes only a tiny bit of sense, but it’s something.
