Hello again readers. I have to start this with an apology. I’m sorry this is so last minute. I had meant to write this earlier in the week, but I got distracted. You know how it is. And then Friday came along. I had the intention of writing in the afternoon, while the toddler watched My Neighbor Totoro. I started having some pain in my side and it was soon apparent that the kidney stone fairy was probably paying me one last visit before Christmas. Lucky me. So, I’ve been popping pain pills and hoping that I can pass this sucker rather than having to go languish at the ER for several hours.

Needless to say, my kidney stone adventures are probably more riveting tales than Dawn the Yawn’s adventures. But we only have two chapters left! Hurray! This chapter is called Rousseau’s Warning. This chapter starts with a plot dump to let us know that the raft has been finished and Claire has had her baby. Then Dawn lets us know that she’s still hanging out with Shannon and hasn’t gotten any loving from Sayid. Poor dear. Just as Dawn is getting ready to fall asleep, Rousseau shows up with a warning that the Others are coming to the beach.

This throws the survivors into panic mode as they try to figure out what to do about the Others. Rousseau tells them that there is some dynamite on the island that the survivors might want to use to repeal the Other’s attack. She offers to lead Jack to the dynamite. While all this is going on, Dawn goes to get some water for her dear buddy, Shannon. Sayid sneaks up on her to tell her that the majority of the survivors are moving to the caves while Jack and a few other people go to get the dynamite. Dawn is glad to see Sayid again, but she still feels obligated to care for Shannon, so there’s no time for kissing Sayid.

Before moving everyone to the safety of the caves, Jack decides they need to help Michael get the finished raft into the water. Dawn and Shannon go to help lay logs to roll the raft down to the water. It takes a little while, but they get the raft ready to launch. Then Jack and his small group head off to find the dynamite. Since no one needs anything from her, Dawn goes to sit down with Shannon for a bit.

Walt joins Dawn and they talk about nothing for a few minutes before the raft is loaded up for its journey. Walt leaves his dog for Shannon, which Dawn thinks is a nice gesture. Sun and Jin say goodbye to each other. Dawn says goodbye to Sawyer and gives him a kiss, though I bet Sayid is glad to see his competition leave. Because it’s obvious that Dawn has the hots for Sawyer too. She talks about him more than she talks about Sayid.

Anyway, Michael, Walt, Jin, and Sawyer head out on the raft and the survivors on the beach notice that the black smoke of the Others is getting closer. Thus ends this exciting chapter. Only one more to go and I know I’m on the edge of my seat.
